(Washington, D.C.) – On Friday, September 14, 2012, Former Democratic House Leader Dick Gephardt and Former Republican House Speaker Dennis Hastert are scheduled to co–host Bloomberg TV’s Street Smart with anchor Trish Regan as federal lawmakers return to Washington following the August recess. Gephardt and Hastert are slated to appear in the 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET hour of the show and are expected to discuss a variety of issues, including: the nation’s economic, financial, and political situation as attention shifts to the November 2012 elections.

Gephardt and Hastert co–authored a thought piece discussing their experience in bipartisan compromise (“Washington Must Agree on Rules of Fiscal Engagement,” Financial Times, June 11, 2012). Gephardt and Hastert also appeared on CNBC’s ‘The Kudlow Report’ by Larry Kudlow Report to discuss the fiscal cliff (August 16, 2012).
