(Washington, DC) – Today, Gephardt Government Affairs President & CEO Dick Gephardt announced that Christina Hamilton, Former Chief of Staff to House Appropriations Committee Chairman Dave Obey will join the firm. As a Senior Vice President with the firm, Christina will support the firm’s health, energy, transportation, trade and appropriations clients.
Mr. Gephardt stated, "Christina’s career as professional staff to both a Member of congressional leadership and an Appropriations Committee Chairman will strengthen our capabilities on the federal government’s budget and appropriations processes. Given the looming challenges posed by the federal budget crisis, our clients will rely on her know-how to navigate the Committee and related agencies successfully."
Christina’s career on Capitol Hill spans over 20 years, most of which was spent working with Dave Obey. In that time, she managed appropriations requests for Wisconsin on issues including healthcare, education, transportation & infrastructure, environment and job creation projects. She also served as a principal advisor to the Chairman on several appropriation subcommittees, most notably the Labor, Health and Human Services and Education subcommittee which has jurisdiction over agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
