(Washington, DC) – Gephardt Government Affairs today announced that Kyle Mulhall and Scott Brenner will join the firm. Both are serving as Vice Presidents, and they will grow the firm’s transportation practice.

Kyle Mulhall. Kyle Mulhall brings twenty years of experience in legislative affairs, and administrative, transportation and environmental law. Kyle joined Gephardt Government Affairs as a Vice President in April 2010, where he oversees many of the firm’s aviation, municipal, maritime, surface transportation, and technology clients on a full scope federal policy and related appropriations issues. Kyle formerly served as Senior Policy Advisor for transportation, energy, agriculture and environmental policy to House Democratic Leader Dick Gephardt from 1995 to 2003, where he also oversaw all appropriations and major grant projects in the Leader’s office. Kyle has also practiced law, serving as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Transportation from 1989 to 1996, the District of Columbia from 1987 to 1988 and the Attorney General of Kentucky in 1985. He also served on the staff of U.S. Senator Walter D. Huddleston of Kentucky in 1984. Kyle earned his juris doctorate from the George Washington University Law School in 1986 and his bachelor’s in Political Science in 1983 from the University of Louisville. He is a member of the District of Columbia bar.
Scott Brenner. Scott brings more than 15 years of experience working on Capitol Hill and in the Executive branch, including as Chief of External Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from 2005 to 2007. From 2000 to 2004, he served as Associate Administrator, External Affairs at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Associate Administrator of Public Affairs at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Scott began his career in communications positions on Capitol Hill, including at the U.S. House of Representatives Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as Communications Director from 1997 to 2000 and the House Ways & Means Committee as deputy spokesman from 1995 to 1997. He began his career in 1991 as a press secretary for U.S. Rep. Bill McCollum (R-FL, 5th) and subsequently for U.S. Rep. E. Clay Shaw (R-FL, 22nd). Scott earned his master’s in Business Administration from Strayer University and bachelor’s degree in 1988 from the University of Nevada-Reno.
